Brenda is a highly experienced psychologist who has a warm and calming approach ensuring you immediately feel at ease. Brenda has worked in many areas of mental health as a psychologist and educator including with children, teenagers and adults in community health, government organisations, schools, and private practice. She particularly enjoys working with parents, helping them to feel confident in their abilities and has worked as a peri-natal/post-natal psychologist for an outreach community program, helping mothers and fathers before and after the birth of their child. Brenda enjoys supporting parents to feel empowered with a range of parenting challenges and concerns.
Prior to becoming a psychologist Brenda worked as a learning consultant and facilitator. She has extensive consulting and education experience and has developed learning packages for private industries, as well as learning institutions in the TAFE sector. She has also worked as an academic tutor and unit coordinator for universities and has enjoyed helping to develop the next generation of psychologists.
Brenda has worked with adults of all ages but particularly likes helping people transition into young adulthood including study concerns, managing anxieties, adjusting to parenting, handling parenting issues and managing stress.
Brenda has completed her Bachelor of Psychology, Graduate Diploma in Psychology and Masters of Counselling Psychology. Brenda is fully
registered as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia. She has also completed her Certificate IV in Training and
Brenda is a passionate advocate for developing awareness of ASD and ADHD and adopts an empowering, supportive approach. Brenda has a strong
education background and enjoys the opportunity to combine her two passions- learning and psychology. Brenda has a particular interest in
working with parents, particularly as they transition to parenthood. She also has experience in working with parents who are seeking support
for various parenting concerns and challenges.
Brenda’s warm, caring and compassionate approach allows her clients to feel comfortable within the therapeutic environment. She adopts a strengths based approach in tailoring treatment to each individual’s needs and uses many tools from positive parenting, and positive psychology.
Brenda believes in an integrative, holistic and multi-disciplinary approach to treatment. She is an experienced clinician who offers a warm, supportive, professional approach in empowering individuals to overcome challenges and develop clarity and insight.
