PREPARE YOUR RELATIONSHIP FOR THE TRANSITION TO PARENTHOOD
Becoming a parent can be both wonderful and enormously challenging. Research indicates that 2/3 couples will experience a significant drop in relationship satisfaction within the first 3 years of parenting. Imagine if you could learn strategies to strengthen your relationship during this important transition.
Bringing Baby Home (BBH) is a two day research-based and research-tested psycho-education workshop dedicated to improving child and parent outcomes by strengthening couple and family relationships. Designed by Dr John and Julie Gottman, the BBH program is ideal for couples who are:
- Interested in having a baby
- Expecting a baby
- Already parenting an infant or toddler (0-3 years)
Created by the Gottman Institute BBH helps prepare couples for the changes and challenges that come with the birth of a new baby. It aims to provide couples with the tools they need to be the best parents they can be while maintaining the quality of their relationship, building a strong and healthy family together.
You and your partner will learn how to:
• Strengthen your friendship
• Increase intimacy and affection
• Work through conflict
• Maintain relationship satisfaction
• Create positive baby-child interactions
• Ensure quality involvement for both parents
Research from the Gottman Institute suggests that couples who complete the BBH program:
